Day 1 – Arrival in Udaipur
Morning: Upon your arrival in Udaipur, whether at the airport or railway station, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and a brief rest, your journey into the cultural heart of Rajasthan begins.
Afternoon: Your first stop is the Pratap Smarak (Pratap Memorial), an important historical site dedicated to Maharana Pratap, the legendary Rajput hero. Situated atop Moti Magri (Pearl Hill), the memorial offers panoramic views of the Fateh Sagar Lake and houses a striking bronze statue of the Maharana astride his loyal horse, Chetak.
Evening: Continue your exploration by visiting Fateh Sagar Lake, a beautiful man-made lake surrounded by the Aravalli Hills. You can enjoy a leisurely walk along its promenade or a boat ride to Nehru Garden, an island park in the middle of the lake. As the sun begins to set, head to Lake Pichola, Udaipur’s most iconic water body. Here, enjoy the tranquil beauty of the lake with views of the majestic Lake Palace and Jag Mandir set against the backdrop of dusky hills. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 2 – Udaipur Sightseeing
Morning: After a traditional Rajasthani breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the Jagdish Temple, a magnificent Indo-Aryan style temple built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is adorned with intricately carved pillars, beautiful ceilings, and an impressive black stone idol of Lord Jagannath. Following this spiritual interlude, explore the grand City Palace complex — one of the largest palaces in Rajasthan. This architectural marvel, perched on the eastern bank of Lake Pichola, features a series of palaces, courtyards, and galleries. Don’t miss the Crystal Gallery, the Peacock Courtyard, and the spectacular views of the lake from its balconies.
Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Saheliyon-ki-Bari, a charming garden built for the royal ladies of the court. Adorned with lotus pools, marble pavilions, elephant-shaped fountains, and lush greenery, it is a serene place that offers insight into the leisure life of the erstwhile Maharanis.
Evening: As dusk approaches, make your way to Bagore Ki Haveli, an 18th-century haveli situated at Gangaur Ghat. This restored mansion showcases traditional Rajput architecture and houses a fascinating museum with exhibits of royal artifacts, costumes, and musical instruments. In the evening, you may choose to attend a cultural performance featuring folk dance and puppetry in the haveli’s courtyard — a vibrant end to your day. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 3 – Udaipur to Mount Abu (Approx. 160 km / 3 hrs)
Morning: After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station nestled in the Aravalli Range. As you ascend the winding roads, you’ll notice the landscape shift to lush forests and cool mountain air.
Afternoon: Begin your Mount Abu experience with a visit to the renowned Dilwara Jain Temples. These five intricately carved temples, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, are revered for their stunning marble craftsmanship. Highlights include the Vimal Vasahi Temple dedicated to Adinath and the Luna Vasahi Temple dedicated to Neminath. The detailed marble carvings, ceilings, and pillars here are considered among the finest in Indian temple architecture. Next, head to Nakki Lake, a serene and sacred lake believed to have been dug by the gods themselves. Enjoy a boat ride or simply stroll along the lakeside promenade lined with local eateries and shops. The lake is surrounded by natural rock formations like Toad Rock and is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.
Evening: Cap your day with a visit to the Sunset Point near Guru Shikhar, the highest peak in the Aravalli Range. From here, enjoy breathtaking views as the sun dips below the hills, casting a golden glow over the lush valleys. It’s a tranquil, romantic setting ideal for reflection or photography. Retire for the night at your hotel in Mount Abu.
