Day 1 – Arrival in Jodhpur
Morning: Upon arrival in Jodhpur, whether by air or train, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to settle in and relax after your journey.
Afternoon: Begin your exploration of Jodhpur with a visit to the vibrant Ghanta Ghar, also known as the Clock Tower. This historical landmark is the gateway to the bustling Sadar Market, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture. Wander through lanes lined with stalls offering traditional Rajasthani textiles, handicrafts, spices, and antiques. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, offering an authentic glimpse into the daily life of the city.
Evening: Continue exploring the market at a leisurely pace, sample local snacks such as mirchi vada or kachori, and soak in the heritage feel of the Old City. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 2 – Exploring the Blue City
Morning: After a hearty breakfast, embark on a journey through Jodhpur’s regal past by visiting the iconic Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest and most beautifully preserved forts in India. Perched atop a rocky hill, the fort offers panoramic views of the Blue City below. As you explore its sprawling courtyards, intricate carvings, and museum galleries, you’ll discover artifacts, palanquins, and weapons from Rajasthan’s royal history.
Afternoon: Next, visit Jaswant Thada, a stunning white marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Often referred to as the “Taj Mahal of Marwar,” this peaceful site is adorned with intricate carvings and offers a serene atmosphere with manicured gardens and a small lake. Proceed to the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, part of the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace which is still the residence of the Jodhpur royal family. The museum showcases a fascinating collection of antique clocks, royal memorabilia, and vintage cars, highlighting the opulence of the 20th-century palace. Enjoy lunch in a nearby restaurant or within the palace complex for a royal touch.
Evening: Spend the evening at your leisure—either unwind at your hotel or return to the markets for some last-minute shopping. Optional cultural activities or a camel ride can be arranged if desired. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 3 – Departure
Morning: After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Depending on your departure schedule, you’ll be transferred to Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying back memories of the Blue City’s grandeur and hospitality.
