Day 1 – Arrival in Jodhpur
Morning: Upon your arrival at the Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly received and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to settle in and freshen up.
Afternoon: After a relaxing lunch, step out to explore the local markets of Jodhpur. Begin your visit with the bustling Ghanta Ghar area, also known as the Clock Tower Market. This vibrant bazaar is the heart of the old city, surrounded by narrow lanes filled with shops selling everything from colorful textiles and spices to traditional Rajasthani handicrafts and antiques. The towering clock tower itself is a colonial-era landmark that provides a great photo opportunity.
Evening: Spend your evening soaking in the lively atmosphere of the market or return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 2 – Exploring Jodhpur
Morning: After breakfast, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India. Perched on a rocky hill, it offers sweeping views of the Blue City below. Inside, you’ll discover opulent palaces, intricate carvings, and a museum housing royal artifacts, weapons, and historical textiles.
Afternoon: Next, head to Jaswant Thada, a serene marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. This white memorial structure is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers a peaceful retreat. Continue to the Umaid Bhawan Palace, a stunning Indo-Deco architectural marvel that still houses the royal family. Part of the palace functions as a museum showcasing royal relics, vintage clocks, and classic cars. After lunch, enjoy some leisure time.
Evening: You may choose to explore more of the local markets or relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 3 – Journey to Jaisalmer (Approx. 290 km / 5 hrs)
Morning: After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive across the arid landscape of Rajasthan to reach the golden city of Jaisalmer. En route, stop at the Ramdevra Temple, also known as Runicha Dham. This temple is dedicated to Baba Ramdev, a revered local saint considered an incarnation of Lord Krishna. Devotees from across the country come here to pay their respects and seek blessings.
Afternoon: Arrive in Jaisalmer and check in at your hotel. Take some time to relax after the drive.
Evening: Visit the Jaisalmer War Museum, an impressive memorial dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers, particularly during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The museum showcases tanks, fighter jets, and war history exhibits that provide a deep sense of pride and patriotism. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 4 – Discover Jaisalmer & the Thar Desert
Morning: After breakfast, begin your exploration with a visit to the Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Quila or the Golden Fort. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the few living forts in the world, with families still residing within its ancient walls. Discover winding alleys, temples, and markets inside the fort. Stop at the intricate Jain Temples, renowned for their beautiful marble carvings and religious significance.
Afternoon: Continue your tour to the iconic Salim Singh ki Haveli, notable for its peacock-shaped roof and unique architecture. Follow this with a visit to the Patwon ki Haveli, a grand five-building haveli complex built by a wealthy merchant family. The last stop before lunch is Nathmal ki Haveli, known for its fusion of Rajput and Islamic styles and twin architect brothers’ unique craftsmanship. After sightseeing, enjoy a traditional lunch and a brief rest.
Evening: Drive out to the Thar Desert for a magical evening. Enjoy a camel ride across the golden sand dunes as the sun sets, casting a surreal glow across the landscape. Later, indulge in a traditional Rajasthani dinner under the stars at a desert camp while being entertained by folk music and dance performances. Spend the night in cozy tented accommodation, experiencing the rustic charm of desert life.
Day 5 – Departure from Jaisalmer or Return to Jodhpur
Morning: After breakfast, check out from your desert camp or hotel. You will be transferred to the Jaisalmer or Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station, depending on your onward travel plans.
