Day 1 – Arrival in Jaisalmer

Morning: Upon arrival at Jaisalmer Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax and soak in the ambiance of this historic desert city.
Afternoon: Begin your journey into the rich military history of the region with a visit to the Jaisalmer War Museum, located on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway. This museum, curated by the Indian Army, offers a compelling display of war memorabilia, weaponry, and audio-visual presentations focusing on the Indo-Pak wars, especially the famous Battle of Longewala in 1971, depicted in the Bollywood film “Border.”
Evening: Return to the hotel and enjoy a leisurely evening exploring the local markets around the fort area or simply relax at your accommodation. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 2 – Excursion to Tanot Mata Temple & Longewala Border

Morning: After breakfast, set out on a fascinating drive across the desert to Tanot Mata Temple, located around 120 kilometers east of Jaisalmer near the India-Pakistan border. This sacred temple is dedicated to Goddess Tanot, an incarnation of Goddess Hinglaj. It is renowned for the miraculous story from the 1965 Indo-Pak war when numerous Pakistani bombs reportedly failed to explode near the temple. The site remains under the care of the Border Security Force (BSF), and you can even view the unexploded shells and bombs on display within the temple compound.
Afternoon: Continue your drive to Longewala, the site of one of the most pivotal battles in Indian military history. Visit the Longewala War Memorial, where an open-air exhibit features tanks, jeeps, bunkers, and artillery used during the 1971 war. A documentary screening at the museum gives further insight into the heroic stand made by Indian soldiers during the battle.
Evening: Return to Jaisalmer by sunset and relax at your hotel after a day of exploring the dramatic stories and landscapes of the desert frontier. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 3 – Jaisalmer City Tour & Thar Desert Safari

Morning: After breakfast, begin your exploration of Jaisalmer’s architectural and cultural marvels with a visit to the Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the very few “living forts” in the world. Rising from the Trikuta Hill, this massive golden-yellow sandstone structure houses homes, temples, shops, and hotels within its walls. Inside the fort, explore the intricately carved Jain Temples, dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries.
Next, visit the splendid Salim Singh ki Haveli, known for its distinctive peacock-shaped roof and arched balconies, and the Patwon Ki Haveli, a cluster of five mansions built by wealthy Jain merchants in the 19th century, showcasing elaborate facades and mirror work. Conclude your heritage tour with a brief stop at Nathmal Ki Haveli, famous for its unique blend of Rajput and Islamic architecture.
Afternoon: After a traditional Rajasthani lunch, visit the serene Gadisar Lake, an artificial reservoir built in the 14th century, surrounded by artistically carved chhatris and temples. The lake offers opportunities for bird-watching and boat rides (optional).
Evening: Later, drive to the outskirts of Jaisalmer to the Thar Desert for an unforgettable desert safari experience. Enjoy a camel ride over the golden sand dunes as the sun sets over the horizon. You may also opt for a thrilling jeep safari. After sunset, settle in at a desert camp where you’ll be treated to a vibrant cultural evening featuring Rajasthani folk music and dance, followed by a delicious traditional dinner served under the stars. Overnight stay in luxury Swiss tents at Khuri or Sam Sand Dunes.
